Developing and Automating Gene Therapy Long-Read Based QC Assays
In this webinar, Andrew Hillhouse, Principal Scientist Group Lead at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, discusses the implementation of long-read next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology to develop automated Gene Therapy QC assays. He presents the project conducted by his group, that was aiming on developing pipelines for viral and plasmid identification. In this process, Genedata Selector platform is used to perform the base calling. Employing this solution results in shortening the time of the analysis from 61 hours to 4 hours, accelerating the process by roughly 90%. The software is also used to detect contamination with a specifically developed Playbook. As a result, over 99% of sequencing reads are identified and mapped to the references.
This talk was given as part of our regular Open Forum events on NGS-based QC for advancing drug development and manufacturing.
