Digitally Transforming Drug Discovery with Automated Data Workflows at Merck
Leading biopharmaceutical companies are transforming themselves through digitalization. Among such innovative organizations is Merck, a global science and technology company with the strategic aim of harnessing data and digital technology to - among other goals - deliver new medications and innovative technologies to patients. Specifically, their healthcare business sought to accelerate drug discovery and development pipelines by building an integrated data ecosystem. Such integration would allow them to leverage multi-modal data and AI/ML to predict and prioritize promising drug candidates from an early stage.
To achieve this, Merck in Darmstadt, Germany collaborated with Genedata to help accelerate the design - make-test-analyze (DMTA) cycles used to experimentally validate drug candidates. Namely, they leveraged Genedata Screener - available within the Genedata Biopharma Platform - to create an end-to-end, fully automated data workflow for their high-throughput screening (HTS) labs.
