In this case study, we describe the successful implementation of Genedata Biologics® as a core biologics research knowledge management platform in the biologics engineering context. Genedata worked together with scientists at AstraZeneca to deploy Genedata Biologics to their global Biologics Engineering function. This enabled the organization to streamline research data management and to facilitate technical innovations embedded into its biologics discovery platforms, which are being applied to develop treatments for oncology, rare diseases, cardiovascular, renal & metabolism, and respiratory & immunology disease areas.
Genedata is working with AstraZeneca to expand the usage and application of the Genedata Biologics platform and incorporate it into novel work with next generation drug formats and discovery technologies. The Genedata platform was selected due to its applicability to novel multi-specific antibody formats and to innovative automation methods. AstraZeneca is using Genedata Biologics as the centre of their knowledge management systems for biologics data through all phases of the discovery process, and across the Biologics Engineering function.
In addition to supporting AstraZeneca’s R&D operations, the Genedata platform will also be used as a foundation system for systematic cross-project analyses and machine-learning approaches.
“We are excited that AstraZeneca has decided to extend usage of our Biopharma platform to Genedata Biologics to support their innovative biotherapeutics research projects. This shows again the value that our enterprise platform delivers for speeding up and scaling up the R&D workflows of novel biologics drugs,” said Othmar Pfannes, Ph.D., CEO of Genedata. “Genedata remains committed to developing state-of-the-art computational solutions that enable biopharma organizations worldwide to discover and develop next-generation therapies to cure life-threatening diseases more quickly and cost-efficiently.”
The Genedata platform is the core knowledge management system for our global Biologics Engineering organization, helping us to streamline our research with the aim of developing novel therapies, faster.
