Enterprise Software Sales Manager, Genedata Screener, CH-Basel

The Position

We are looking for an Enterprise Software Sales Manager (f/m) to join our sales team for the Genedata Screener® enterprise software system and related professional services. Our portfolio focuses on supporting the early discovery of new drugs in the pharma, biotech and academic markets. Our business is growing strongly due to a highly successful product, an increasingly receptive market, strong service and development teams, and an efficient marketing and sales organization. We now are looking for enthusiastic new team members to help us to continue to scale with the pace of business growth in Europe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, developing and closing new business relationships for Genedata Screener as well managing existing accounts. This includes developing, recommending, and implementing strategic and tactical sales plans and negotiating client license and service agreements. This typically means a complex enterprise sales scenario, involving working with multiple influencers and decision makers from IT, science and business. The position includes significant post-sales and account management responsibilities for developing and sustaining our long-term customer relationships.

This full-time position is located in Basel, Switzerland. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Expand business: prospecting, opportunity qualification, preparation of presentations and business proposals, negotiation and deal closure
  • Establish and grow relationships with current and new customers
  • Cross-functional interaction with Genedata consultancy team, product management, marketing and other functions to identify and build opportunities, sell software and services
  • Represent the company at conferences, trade shows and networking events

Your Profile

Essential skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years related business experience in Account Management
  • Solid scientific or technical background (Master/Diploma level) in biology, bioinformatics, biochemistry, chemistry, engineering, or computer science, paired with an aptitude in software usage
  • Practical experience in or at least a fundamental understanding of the pharmaceutical research and drug discovery process
  • Good interpersonal communication skills paired with an aptitude for negotiation and identification of mutually beneficial solutions
  • Personal integrity, strong initiative and perseverance
  • Excellent time management - ability to prioritize actions and goals and to successfully progress sales along the sales pipeline
  • Good presentation abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience with solution selling and consulting-oriented projects, preferably in the software industry
  • First-hand knowledge of the bioinformatics software market.
  • The ideal candidate already has business experience in selling high-value software or IT-related solutions to pharma and biotech companies at the enterprise level, with a proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales goals.
