Marketing Specialist, Genedata Profiler, CH-Basel

The Position

We are looking for a Marketing Specialist for the Genedata Profiler Business Unit to support our successful and expanding business during the next growth phase.

Precision medicine requires scientists to characterize the genomic profile of patients in order to better understand patients’ response to new therapies, to efficiently stratify patients for clinical trials or to identify novel biomarkers for therapy monitoring, drug toxicity or pharmacodynamics/-kinetics. Genedata enables global research organizations to achieve their vision of precision medicine by leveraging the full power of multi-omic data. Genedata Profiler™, an enterprise software solution for omics profiling of patients, empowers researchers to generate valuable scientific insights, while enabling compliance with increasingly complex data privacy laws and regulatory requirements.

We are looking for a highly motivated person, who will work across functions with product management, product development, business development and scientific consulting to position the product in emerging market segments, support the launch of new product versions, conduct market studies and help create effective marketing programs and materials. The role requires excellent marketing execution and business analysis skills with strong capabilities in effectively positioning and promoting products. Our ideal candidate will have strong communication and project coordination skills with an ability to work effectively with others in order to lead and execute on a wide variety of product marketing initiatives.

This position is based at our office in Basel, Switzerland. It requires some travel within Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be able to comprehend business scenarios & challenges, scientific & technology concepts in the area of precision medicine and translate them into meaningful internal and external communication programs that support business priorities
  • Collaborate with product marketing teams and other internal customers (e.g. business and scientific account management) to understand business needs/objectives and translate them into engaging marketing collaterals
  • Create compelling, on-brand designs and layouts for product collateral, email campaigns, landing pages, digital and print ads, whitepapers, posters and other marketing materials in line with corporate guidelines
  • Develop content and layout for marketing collaterals, implement case studies and white papers in collaboration with external customers and Genedata scientific experts; produce media presentations, product overview and datasheets, FAQs, briefs, and webinars
  • Drive and execute marketing and external communication activities
  • Collect and analyze market feedback and trends in precision medicine, perform market research, track and analyze competing products and solutions
  • Support the sales lead generation and qualification process
  • Coordinate launch of new software releases with product management, sales and product development team

Your Profile

  • At least 3 years of experience in B2B marketing
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to clearly and concisely communicate with multiple stakeholders and maintain relationships
  • Experience in preparing marketing/communications/sales materials
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong grasp of marketing and branding concepts and social media
  • Highly organized with a flair for project management 
  • Strong initiative and dedication to quality of work with hands-on mentality
  • Since our customers are mainly within biopharmaceutical R&D, a knowledge of the biopharmaceutical research and development process and ideally familiarity with biopharma R&D workflows, translational and clinical research, genomics in clinical trials and precision medicine is an advantage
  • Fluency in English is required
