About the Role

Genedata is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to fill a new position in our rapidly growing Genedata team.

You will oversee the continuous software validation processes within Genedata Profiler, our innovative solution for precision medicine. This position is especially well-suited for those who have a strong software engineering background, are committed to software quality assurance, enjoy a scientific environment and a mix of tasks in their daily work, and want to expand their soft as well as technical skill set.

This full-time position is based in Munich. Occasional travel to interact with customers globally might be required (below 5%). 

Your Responsibilities

  • Expanding and upgrading our test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms, and building test scenarios and acceptance tests for the Genedata Profiler software suite,
  • Reviewing module and API designs for testability,
  • Conducting performance tests of our HPC functionalities,
  • Orchestrating the change management process jointly with our development, deployment, and QC teams,
  • Managing the final quality of the Genedata Profiler production releases,
  • Understanding our GxP customers’ systems and conducting risk assessments together with them.

Skills & Experience

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in computer science, or related fields, or comparable on-the-job experience,
  • 5+ years of professional full stack programming experience (Java, TypeScript, SQL, HTML, CI/CD),
  • 2+ years of professional software testing experience and associated tooling,
  • Passionate about recognizing risks and errors in applications,
  • Proficient knowledge of git, including pull requests and branching,
  • Firm knowledge of Linux, Docker, AWS, and Windows operating systems,
  • Ability to perform efficiently in time-constrained situations,
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills,
  • Ability to work within a distributed global team and willingness to quickly adopt knowledge about new product features, processes, and procedures.
