About the Role
We are seeking an Outbound Sales Development Representative (SDR) with an unwavering drive to prospect and sell. This position will report directly to the Head of Commercial Excellence and will serve an integral role at the early stage of our sales cycles. This is also a great opportunity to learn about sales in a mentoring environment.
This full-time position is based at our office in Lexington, MA. Travel may be more than 20% across the US, and potentially across Europe.
We are offering a base salary range of between $65,000 to $80,000 plus commission for this position.
Your Responsibilities
- Represent Genedata as first point of contact for customers and/or prospects while growing and maintaining sales pipeline for Business Account Managers.
- Prospecting, identifying and qualifying marketing leads through cold calling, email, and/or social media.
- Responsible for organizational tasks in Salesforce to track metrics such as lead conversion or sales quota attainment.
- Research companies and identify key decision makers using prospecting tools.
- Create unique elevator pitches based on the targeted account and audience.
- Collaborate with Business Account Managers on messaging related to outbound prospecting activities including emailing and cold calling decision makers.
- Consulting with decision-makers from IT, science, and business to become a trusted partner.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to boost attendance at Genedata’s events.
- Act as representative at conferences and tradeshows and follow up on qualified leads from these events.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in life sciences required.
- Prefer 1-2 years work experience in a sales or customer service role.
- Problem solver who can prioritize goals and successfully drive business.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
