About the Role

In the position as IT Security Engineer, you will act as point of contact for any security related IT topics and ensure that the Genedata’s worldwide IT infrastructure is properly configured and meets all security standards. The responsibilities of this role primary focus on security topics, but also include linux related tasks.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify security vulnerabilities using various tools
  • Protect the IT landscape from intrusion and drive prevention
  • Support web application scanning of all inhouse products
  • Maintaining diverse IT security projects like endpoint protection, central logging platform and firewalls including linux infrastructure
  • Prepare comprehensive internal reportings incl. presentations to the security task force
  • Perform software maintenance and automated Linux installation in a virtualized environment
  • Manage server hardware
  • Assist in other areas such as Linux-Windows connectivity, firewalls, and backup systems
  • Perform 2nd level user support and follow internal SOP guidelines incl. documentation of implementation

Skills & Experience

  • BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years related business/industry experience
  • In-depth Linux client and server knowledge (RedHat, Suse, Ubuntu)
  • Knowledge of Apache, SSL, Samba, DNS, DHCP, Postfix, NFS and automated configuration solutions
  • Knowledge of Vulnerability Management
  • Knowledge of EDR/MDR solution
  • Scripting experience (Bash, Python)
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Fluency in English, German is considered a plus
