About the Role

We are looking for a Scientific Business Development Professional to support the next growth phase of our leading enterprise software solution, Genedata Expressionist.

As part of the business development team, you will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing new and existing accounts. You will leverage your exceptional relationship-building and teamwork skills to confidently navigate client opportunities to a successful close. You will be part of a fast-growing company selling a leading enterprise software solution for the processing, analysis, and management of data in the top biopharmaceutical companies in the world.

 This full-time position is based in our office in Lexington (Boston Area), MA, USA, and will have responsibility for specific geographic areas and/or specific accounts in North America. This position requires 20% travel within North America on a regular basis and occasional international travel.

Your Responsibilities

  • Drive business and manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closure
  • Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and networking events
  • Understand prospect situation, needs, and underlying data processes & workflows
  • Develop and present software solutions that address client needs
  • Communicate proposals, create value, and negotiate sales agreements

Skills & Experience

  • Passion for accelerating biopharma R&D though high-value enterprise software solutions
  • Advanced degree or experience in molecular biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or closely related discipline
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional and international team
  • Skilled time management with the ability to prioritize goals and successfully move deals through the sales cycle

These additional skills and experience are a plus:

  • Knowledge of mass spectrometry technology and applications
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies
  • First-hand knowledge of the bioinformatics software market
