Product Marketing Manager, Genedata Screener, CH-Basel

The Position

This position is based at our office in Basel, Switzerland.

We are looking for a product marketing manager to streamline, sharpen, and spread the message for our biopharmaceutical enterprise software.

You will work with a global team of product management, business development, and scientific consulting to understand and formulate the product value in areas such as discovery screening, large-molecule characterization, R&D automation, and AI-assisted data analysis. You will be working with both well-established and new products, facing the separate challenges of broadening an existing market and taking the first steps into new ones.

Your audience will be scientists, research informaticians, and business managers, so you need to be able to speak to each of them in their own language, to explain how our software fulfills their needs and how we are distinct from our competition. You will get your information from our sales teams, scientific consultants, and product management, but you will also get the opportunity to meet customers and prospects directly, visit conferences, and create surveys and email campaigns to learn more.

Not only will you define the message, you will need to make it sound and look good too. You will be responsible for the writing and creation of such disparate material as emails, ads, and presentation slides. Therefore you need to write compelling messages in perfect English and ideally bring an eye for design and experience in the Adobe Suite.

To spread the material you have created, you will also plan and run go-to-market campaigns, support the scientific sales teams with custom-made collateral, and help prepare customer events. Where needed, you will train our team in how to deliver the message and create a broader internal awareness of the value we bring. We also need you to conduct market studies to find new ways to reach our current as well as new audiences.

Our marketing team is small and we all help out where it’s needed. Therefore you may also be asked to set up email campaigns, produce videos, update our website, or execute any other of our myriad daily tasks, all according to your skills and our needs. Your Profile

  • An analytical, problem-solving, and creative mindset
  • Marketing skills, including clear and effective copywriting
  • An understanding of business perspectives and business-driven priorities
  • Ability to flexibly handle a variety of tasks
  • Native or near-native English (especially in writing)
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a natural science or engineering discipline
  • Extensive experience in B2B marketing, 5 years or more

Good-to-have experience:

  • Experience in a similar role, with a software or instrument company serving the life-science market
  • Sufficient familiarity with biopharmaceutical R&D processes and workflows, to understand our customers’ needs
  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders in a marketing context
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite
