Genedata and diaDexus Collaborate on the Discovery of Disease Markers Through Functional Genomics Data Analysis

Basel, 2001/09/04

Genedata, a world leading bioinformatics company, and diaDexus, Inc. which is at the forefront of the commercial utilization of products derived from genomic information, have entered into a license agreement for the micro-array data analysis system Genedata Expressionist. This system will enable diaDexus to rapidly screen through functional genomics data in order to determine genes that are the basis for disease.

"Our agreement with diaDexus reflects the flexibility of the Genedata Expressionist system in handling various technologies such as Affymetrix and Agilent", said Othmar Pfannes, Ph.D., the CEO of Genedata. "Our new offices in San Francisco and Boston are the basis to provide optimal support for functional genomics data analysis in the US."

"We chose Genedata Expressionist because of its superior ability to support various technologies and Genedata's willingness to further customize its system", added Ron Lindsay, chief scientific officer at diaDexus. "Genedata will be instrumental in supporting our in-house system for rapidly screening thousands of human genes for their potential involvement in diseases."
