About the Role
The DevOps Engineer is responsible to ensure that Genedata’s worldwide IT infrastructure is properly configured and meets all security standards.
Your Responsibilities
- Maintain the RedHat Satellite and Ansible infrastructure
- Participating in planning, implementing, and maintaining our Linux IT infrastructure
- Performing software maintenance and automated Linux installation in a virtualized environment
- Following internal SOP and documentation of implementation
- Managing server hardware incl. firmware updates
- Assisting in other fields including Linux-Windows connectivity, firewalls, and backup systems
- Supporting end users
Skills & Experience
- University degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with a min. of 3 years related business experience
- In-depth Linux client and server knowledge (RedHat)
- Knowledge of Apache, SSL, SSSD, SSHD, Samba, DNS, DHCP, Postfix and NFS
- Scripting experience (e.g. Bash, Python)
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP network configuration and troubleshooting
- Experiences with one or multiple of the following is a plus
- Atlassian Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket
- Firewall concepts
- Virtualization with VMware ESXi
- Performing 2nd level user support
- Fluency in English, German is a plus
