The Position

We are looking for a Scientific Account Manager (f/m) for our research information management system, Genedata Phylosopher®. As a member of our professional services team, you will be working closely with customers on a wide diversity of projects and tasks.

The position is based at our headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include different projects and tasks: from custom software development to data integration, software installation, training and support. In addition, you will be involved in pre-sales activities such as the preparation and delivery of technical presentations to potential customers, and technical and scientific support for business development.

Your Profile

You are comfortable working in a Unix/Linux environment, and have a solid experience solving real-world problems using Perl or an equivalent scripting language. You are familiar with relational database concepts and SQL. Knowledge of the Oracle RDBMS and PL/SQL, or experience with OOP and Java is a plus. You have a working knowledge of popular bioinformatics tools including Emboss, ClustalW and Blast, as well as established genomics information resources such as RefSeq and Ensembl. You have a good background knowledge in Molecular Biology and Genomics, including a basic understanding of concepts like gene expression and regulation. We require excellent communication and presentation skills, and fluency in written and spoken English (German is a plus). Team spirit, initiative and flexibility are essential.
