The Position
We are looking for an additional Account Manager (f/m) to support our successful and expanding business during the next growth phase. Focus will be on our Genedata Expressionist® and Genedata Phylosopher® products but the Account Manager will be expected to sell other products as required in the future.
The Account Manager will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and developing new business relationships from initial contact through signed agreements. He/She will work closely with the professional services team to sell enterprise systems and consulting services. Furthermore, he/she will develop, recommend and implement strategic and tactical client sales plans and negotiate client sales agreements to maximize potential. The Account Manager role includes significant post-sales activities in account management and customer relationship management.
This position is based in our headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, and will have responsibility for specific geographical areas and/or specific accounts in Europe.
This fulltime role requires travel within Europe on a regular basis.
Your Profile
As an ideal candidate you will have a minimum 3 years related business experience, with a proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales goals.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A good scientific background, together with a fundamental understanding of the pharmaceutical research/drug discovery process.
- Direct sales experience to pharmaceutical, biotech and life sciences sectors.
- Experience in selling high value software or IT related solutions.
- Excellent time management.
- The ability to prioritize actions and goals and to successfully progress sales along the sales pipeline.
- A high level of initiative, interpersonal skills, presentation abilities, customer orientation and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Additional preferred Skills and Experience:
- An understanding of Bioinformatics.
- First hand knowledge of the bioinformatics software market gained through selling to this market.
- A solid understanding of project management methodologies.
- French language skills.
We also appreciate applications from candidates without sales experience but with a solid scientific background in Pharma/Biotech and the right aptitude.
