The Position

We are currently in search of a qualified Scientific Account Manager for our Screener product; an integrated platform developed for high throughput screening analysis.
Responsibilities of this position include: supporting all Genedata software systems, with a focus on Screener, assisting the Business Account Manager with pre-sales activities, specifying and managing customer service projects and timely and within-budget delivery of service items.

Accountabilities: Under the supervision of the Head of Professional Services, US: Support existing US software customers by: Managing software installation for new customers; Providing support for product upgrades at existing customers; Planning and executing training at customer sites; Providing expert support and troubleshooting; Communicating customer requirements to product manager, developers; Specifying and implementing customer service projects
Support US business development in: Customer requirement analysis; Preparation and presentation of pre-sales material; Pre-sales customer data analysis; Collaboration with Business Account Manager to implement strategies to maintain customer satisfaction and increase Genedata opportunities; Provide training to other staff members to maintain and improve overall skill level.


Your Profile

Critical Knowledge:
Fundamental understanding of molecular biology; Knowledge of pharmaceutical research/drug discovery process; Expert knowledge of current statistical data analysis methods; Experience in the analysis of high-throughput screening data.
Critical Skills:
Facility with UNIX environment, a scripting language (shell, Perl, Python); Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication, presentation skills; Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills; Customer-facing abilities and presentation skills; Project management abilities; Ability to master new technical information quickly; Ability to perform professionally in stressful situations; Ability to work with a distributed global team; ability to travel 20%; Willingness to work with teams in Basel to maintain product knowledge and understanding of new developments; Basic understanding of the Java programming language preferred
Critical Experience:
5+ years in biopharmaceutical research and/or, bioinformatics software development; 3+ years working experience with scientific data analysis software; Background or advanced degrees in mathematics, chemistry, or biology highly desired; Familiarity with scientific software development processes desired; Previous experience with support or pre-sales of scientific software preferred; 3+ years MS office applications
This fulltime position requires up to 20% of time for travel.
