The Position
We are looking for a Junior Scientific Account Manager (SAM) for our Genedata Screener® product line in pharmaceutical screening data analysis. This position is at the interface of our external customer projects and the internal development team.
Externally the SAM will support our growing business by delivering scientific pre-sales, consulting and implementation projects to our customers. He / she works with the customers through all phases of the sales cycle and along the entire project lifespan all the way through to the delivery. He / she identifies customer needs and maps them to capabilities of the software, defines appropriate service projects to fulfill unmet needs and manages their execution, supports our users as a domain expert in screening data analysis, and identifies new opportunities for growing our business with existing accounts.
Internally the SAM orchestrates the work of the implementation team, ensures the quality of implementation, guarantees adherence to budget and time lines, and supports the sales force with product expertise in customer presentations.
This position is based at our headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.
Your Profile
To successfully fill this position you have a strong scientific background in one of the natural sciences (Diploma or Master’s degree in biology, bioinformatics, physics, or chemistry), excellent communication and presentation skills, you are fluent in English and have a solid knowledge of German. We require strong initiative and dedication to quality of work as well as the ability to interact productively with scientists and IT experts at our customers’ facilities. Practical experience in software development as well as a good understanding of scientific data analysis are required. A background in statistics would be a plus.
Technical familiarity with UNIX systems and at least one programming or scripting language are definite advantages. In addition to an academic degree, the ideal candidate has two to four years project management experience in the software, biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
