The Position

As a qualified Java software engineer you will develop scientific applications for a variety of life science processes, like bio- and chemoinformatics, high throughput screening, data analysis, and process management. This encompasses programming of software modules according to customer requirements, customization of existing tools, and provision of scripts and interfaces.

Being part of an interdisciplinary team, you will also take over project responsibility and closely interact with our customers in determining, how our in-silico solutions will optimally support their research processes.


Your Profile

As an ideal candidate you have excellent skills in object-oriented software development (in Java) with at least two to four years of experience. Experience in scripting, Perl or equivalent, and a good knowledge about Unix environments is required. Team spirit, initiative, good communication and presentation skills, and flexibility are essential. Experience with mid-size development projects in a professional (preferably agile) software development environment is a definite advantage.

Ideally you have a background in natural sciences, on a university level. A profound knowledge of research processes in life science industry, especially pharmaceutical discovery and research, is a definite plus. Team spirit, initiative, good communication and presentation skills (in English), and flexibility are essential.
